Net Worth: January, 2013

It's been quite a long time since I posted on our Networth - so I thought I would do a bit of an update.  I don't think it's worth doing on a monthly or more frequent basis because quite frankly, our finances don't change that frequently - but I think ever six months could be a bit interesting.

Yay!  It's in the positive!

  1. Congrats on paying off your credit card!

I was looking at your different payoff/savings goals to the right of the screen, and I noticed that you owe $210,000(!) on your Ford Escape. I assume there's an extra number or something in there, and I thought I'd let you know.

Looking forward to reading more about your goals this year!

    1. Hi! Thank you! It felt so good to get that taken care of. It was important to me and to Jordan to start 2013 off with $0 credit card debt.

Too funny! Yes, I updated that tracking bar this morning and must have put the extra 0 in then.

  3. Your mortgage is more than what your home is worth? How did that happen?

    1. Good question!

The house is actually worth more now than its purchase price however as a new home purchase was subject to GST. We also bought with 5% down and were required to have mortgage insurance.

I used the cities tax assessed value rather than inflating it with taxes and fees
