  1. Can't help you here. We pay about $13 month at the Credit Union. I was hoping that Dad would qualify for their Senior account, which has no fees, but he has 2 years to go. This did not help him to feel any younger.

  2. PC Financial is good for everyday banking and free cheques. ING is good for savings only.

    Maintaining a monthly balance (typically $1,000 or $2,500) may get you free banking at the other banks.

  3. Chase has a checking account where if you use your debit card 5 times a month or do direct deposit there is no fee.

    Most banks have a "free" checking, but you have to use the account or do online billpay.
