The Options Are In

It took what seemed like forever, but last week all of the wish list items that Jordan and I had requested a price for came back.  It was pretty intense to look at all those numbers, and that's coming from a numbers person!

If we had elected for alllll of the items we wanted - the final number would have been around $375,500!  It was fun for about five minutes to fantasize building the home that had every last detail finished - but then we got to the core of it.  At the end of the day we both wanted to come in under $350K, and we've done it!

We wound up adding some and deleting some items since the last time I did a detailed post about it, but here is a summary for those folks that are interested:

If anyone is a keener and wants to know the options that we wound up with, just let me know and I can get into more details.

We have one more appointment before everything is done.  In about 2-3 weeks we'll sign off on the final blueprints and the architectural conrols number will be finalized.

  1. I have a question regarding your earlier housing option - buying your aunt's house.

Would she be willing to sell to a non-relative at the price she quoted you??????

  2. I'd be interested in a detailed comparison to last time to see what you went with if you have the free time.

Glad to see you got most of what you wanted at the price you wanted. So long as you are happy with it that is all that matters

  3. That's awesome that you were able to leave off some options to come in where you wanted to with your budget. You will definitely have to post pictures of your house when it is done. I can't wait to see it.

  4. @ Anon - Likely no, she'll sell for as much as she can get now. That's the advise we'll give her anyway.

    @ Rafiki - Will do!

@ ND Chic - Thanks! It's taken a tonne of mental effort to get here
