About Me

Hi, and welcome to my blog :)

My name is Jessie. This is my first blog, and first attempt at really getting serious about my money. My plan is to be brutally honest, not only with you but myself as well. I don't think that I am in massive debt, that said it's more then I'm comfortable with. I've got some big goals, including buying a house within the next three years. I'm going to document my progress, and keep you up to date on any helpful tips I come upon on my financial freedom journey.

I started this blog in March 2009 because I felt like I needed an outlet - somewhere to learn and share about personal finance, specifically my personal finance. I have always thought that I had my money under control. That is until I graduated after 6 years of post-secondary education and a few bad relationships. I wound up owing 10,500 in student loans, a big credit card debt, and no savings.

I have recently starting my 'first real job' out of school and feel that I am now in a position to start effectively paying of debt, and planning for my future.

I am a college and university graduate (did i mention six years of post-secondary school). I have a General Arts & Science Certificate, a Marking Management Diploma, and a Bachelor's degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources.

Blog disclaimer

I am not a financial adviser. I am not an expert. My posts are a reflection of my learning and what works for me. Please do not make any financial decisions based on what I have said or done, I may make suggestions -but at the end of the day, it's your money - do what works for you.
